Sustainability

Standardised criteria based on recognised scientific methods measure the quality of the sustainability. The building specific evaluation criteria include fire, noise and thermal protection as well as recycling capacity.

Environmental assessment of construction products provides detailed key figures from manufacturing via duration of utilisation to the disposal and recycling. The basis of this information is DIN EN ISO 14040, which provides each construction product with a separate inspection.

KLB-Klimaleichtblock provides excellent life cycle assessment for all of its construction products. The manufacture and use of masonry blocks made of light-weight concrete with its excellent insulation performance forms the basis for this.

The “German Sustainable Building Council e.V. (DGNB)” issues different certificates in the classes platinum, gold or silver - for existing buildings also in bronze. The evaluation includes 40 criteria in six topic areas.
